Indian Christian human rights activists have sent a protest letter to the United States ambassador to India in New Delhi condemning a plan by an American evangelical church to burn copies of the Quran.
The statement described the American pastor’s proposal as an activity of fringe lunatics and a violation of religious freedom and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

As Indian and Pakistani foreign ministers prepare to hold their first substantive talks since the Mumbai attacks, Kashmiri-Canadian Council (KCC) welcomes resumption of dialogue between the nuclear-armed rivals – as result-oriented negotiations are the only way to bridge the divide between India and Pakistan. KCC hopes both New Delhi and Islamabad understand what is at stake – without a settlement of the Kashmir issue, peace between two long-time adversaries or for the entire region is a pipedream.

Group of Ministers GOM will soon proclaim its decisive verdict on inclusion of caste in the census. At present census is being conducted in the country. Succumbing to the stiff pressure of many of its allies in the ruling coalition Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had announced in the upper house of parliament that cabinet will soon take positive decision on the issue. Now, it seems that government is trying to find ways and means to tackle the problems likely to arise after the caste census as it will inevitably lead to chain reactions. Setting-up of GoM is first step in the direction.

"It's like a nightmare you can't wake up from." This is how Danielle Brutsche described the plight of Gulf of Mexico residents at a May 30 rally in New Orleans demanding that the government take control of managing BP's disaster.
The horror grows day by day as the cover-up by BP and its government co-conspirators is peeled away. It started with the deaths of the 11 workers who were victims of the April 20 explosion and now threatens whole cultures, both ecological and human - the unique ways of life of fishers, shrimpers, and the Gulf's other inhabitants.

The longstanding U.S. policy of arming the Israeli government to the teeth, and uncritically defending every anti-Palestinian policy it initiates, has resulted in an Israeli commando raid against a flotilla of boats bringing humanitarian aid to 1.5 million Palestinians living in Gaza.
This "Freedom Flotilla" was attempting to break the Israeli blockade which has turned the people of Gaza into malnourished prisoners in their own land. Nine participants in this international effort were killed when Israeli soldiers boarded boats containing food, medicine, building supplies and other essentials for survival and began shooting.

B'nai Brith Canada has expressed its regret for the loss of life and several casualties, including Israeli personnel, that took place when a ship from the Free Gaza Flotilla refused to enter safe harbour in Israel for customary cargo inspection procedures, and Israel was forced to intercept it.
The Free Gaza Flotilla was organized by the International Humanitaire Hilfsorganization (IHH), a radical Islamist organization based in Turkey. Numerous reports have linked the IHH to terrorist organizations across the globe, including Al-Qaeda, Hamas, and the Muslim Brotherhood.
Participants of the Gaza flotilla have been recorded chanting "Jews, remember Khyabar, the army of Mohammed is returning," a slogan referring to a seventh-century massacre of Jews in Arabia.
