I want to rise or fall with my predictions, rather than with the amount of painful "white noise" I make on various TV channels. So here is my "prediction" as to how history will look at the "War on Terror".
The "War on Terror" started with the famous (infamous) declaration by president Bush that it is a "Crusade". Later he regretted using those words but actually he was right - in a way he wished he were not. In fact, history will call it a Crusade because the "War on Terror" has all the defining characteristics of a Crusade.
This is my first prediction.
Let us go back to the Crusades of the Middle Ages. Two of its main defining characteristics were:

I have been reading with great concern and anger the recent headline reports in Norwegian media about the rotten and criminal practices in the "Paradise" of Norwegian medical world.
Till today the Norwegian medical system has been described as a "living heaven on earth", but finally, after decades of protests by people like me, the dirt and the stink has started surfacing on the shores of "Paradise" like the black dirt-balls in Mexico Gulf surfacing on the beautiful Florida beaches.
Here are two facts the Norwegian media has finally been forced to report.
1)The head of the institution for checking whether the degrees of medical people in Norway are genuine or fake, Liv Loberg (60), has finally been exposed as having all her degrees, including one from London School of Economics - faked.

I refer to the following article on BBC World News dated 25 April, 2010: "Stephen Hawking warns over making contact with aliens". Professor Hawking believes in aliens and provides the most simple and beautiful explanation for it, "To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational."
I personally regard the existence of aliens as the "First Axiom of Existence" - something so rational, simple, and obvious that it requires no proof. So I completely agree with Professor Hawking. But only this far, because then he suddenly veers from the path of "perfect rationality" and says something very culture-specific; "If aliens visit us, the outcome would be much as when Columbus landed in America which didn't turn out well for the Native Americans".
The west has always plundered and colonialized other cultures with which it came in contact and so it assumes that Aliens are going to do exactly the same thing - a sort of pay-back time. But this assumption is wrong. Actually even we humans are learning that this "loot, plundering of resources, and colonialization" is an abnormal state of affairs which is not sustainable. But that is another story.

According to my definition, all the 195 or so countries on Mother Earth are corrupt and racist. Yes, even racist, though that racism may have a different name, and may be expressed and practised in a different form in each country. So all I have to explain is why I put Norway on the top of this long list of 195 corrupt states that adorn our nascent Global Village like 195 pockmarks. I do so by comparing two countries I know the best - India and Norway.
As everybody knows, there is a lot of corruption and even racism in India, though that racism has a different name and is practiced in a different form. But if there is corruption and racism in India, at least you can stand on your roof-top and scream and shout that India is corrupt.
You can abuse Gandhi, Nehru, or any other minister of your choice to your heart's content, and nothing will happen to you. You can go to a lawyer or newspaper with your grievance, and with great pride and fearlessness, they will do whatever they can for you, sometimes, though not always, with success.

One after another, the impregnable citadels of Catholicism are falling before the onslaught of the child abuse scandals. First it was the U.S.A., then the U.K., then Holland and Austria, and now the very cradle of present-day Catholicism - Germany, the birth-place of Pope Benedict, is under seize.
But strangely, and suspiciously, all seems to be quiet on the Eastern Front like India. But this is just the type of silence which always precedes a storm. It is an ‘open secret’ that Catholic schools had not only a grip over education in third world countries like India, but they have also regarded themselves beyond the law of those lands on which they operate.
And what does this mean?
This means extensive child abuse, total cover up with impunity, and no power of the government or the courts to be able to do anything about it.

However paradoxical, even "silly", as it may seem, I believe that the present Big Freeze in Norway and elsewhere may actually be a sign of global warming. The reason for the severely cold winter is that the air flow pattern is not the normal one. Instead of the usual warmer air flowing from west to east, very cold air is gushing out of the North Pole region.
This is reminiscent of the change of water flow pattern in the oceans exemplified by the El Nino effect which is connected with global warming.
Thus the real question is not "Why this cold winter - what happened to global warming?" but "Why this change in both the air and water flow patterns on the earth's surface?"
