Supporting the National Free Press

Foreword

The National Free Press is a Private Not-for-Profit Organization*.
The objective of the NFP is to provide a neutral free press media news system, contributed to by people from around the world. It has developed into a central point for world news, editorials, open letters, editorial cartoons and so much more - from an impressive group of individuals and political groups.

The NFP has had the privilege to be the first to host some extraordinary editorials and letters like those below...

The New Middle East: The US Democracy in Middle Eastern Key Countries! - Karim El-Koussa
and
an
Open Letter to the King of Norway - Rattan Mann

...and there are many more.

We are free of government and corporate influence, as well as being free of advertisements. And we’re dedicated to bringing the world the real editorials, articles, open letters and more, written by anyone - from anywhere.

Our First Annual Fund Drive

The NFP does not have a paid staff members, everyone is a volunteer. We support various media and human rights groups and in the near future the NFP will expand our environmentally friendly systems and work at becoming carbon-neutral.

The NFP was created in theory about 5 years ago, was Registered on Groundhog Day, Feb. 2/06 and officially went online on April Fool’s Day, April 1/06. The NFP.org site officially went online October 31st, 2007.

The NFP can and will keep going but with your help we can do more.

For example, we will be able to print and mail copies of the Newspaper version of the NFP to people around the world who don’t have access to the Internet and to those who will want to read the editorials not posted online.

Or add to our financial and media support to such groups as Reporters Without Borders. And to continue to provide air space to everyone who fights for free speech, free press and human rights - the three main components needed for a relatively decent democracy.

We need your support - and there are a variety of ways to participate.

And we don’t need a million dollars.

Please see The National Free Press Publication below.

Our goal for the 2009 NFP Fund Drive is $10,000

As you can see - we’re not lining our pockets and moving to the Cayman Islands.

The $10,000 is required for...

- 4 print runs for 2008 (approx. $6,000 total for 4 – 32 pages each, total circulation 30,000 copies)

- yearly global mailing costs (approx. $2,000)

- website hosting and development costs (approx. $1,000 per year)

- yearly administrative costs (approx. $1,000)

Print Media Layout and Production; Website Design, Processing and Maintenance; and Promotions are all carried out by volunteers.

And that’s about it. With a little bit of help from my friends (and you folks), together we should be able to pull it off.

Although this is a Private Not-for-Profit Organization*, it is developed to be transparent as other Not-for-Profit Organizations. As we progress, the Administrator who maintains the NFP will produce Annual Statements for the Public.

The National Free Press Publication

ImageThe publication is the most important part of the NFP Communication System as it is the essence of Free Speech and Free Press. The hardcopy of newsprint can withstand the demise of the Internet and it can always be produced. Paper will not be going anywhere.

This is where the ‘best of the best’ reside. The best of the Editorials, Open Letters and Letters to the Editor featured for the first time in the Publication only. The Publication has some material not shown on the website. This is an exclusive, one-of-a-kind Publication filled with words from people everywhere.

The Publication is also a vehicle of information to people who don’t have easy or any access to the Internet. We can grow the circulation of the Publication and get the words of the few out to the minds of the many.

The Publication is produced on recycled newsprint and print production is minimal to have very little waste. The NFP has future plans to offset any environmental impact by replenishing the tree population.

Website and
Publication Sponsors

The National Free Press is a unique communication system available for the public, by the public. The current world environment has given birth to the need of a global, publicly oriented, credible free press media system. The National Free Press is fast becoming a powerhouse of information covering every aspect of free speech, free press and human rights - straight from the people who deal with it daily.

Being a Website or Publication Sponsor is not for everyone, it is for those who are in a global Organization or Corporate setting who realize the importance of the fundamentals of all human existence and the need to get those messages out, to help people from around the world share their words for all to read and hear. An Organization or Corporate entity with an acknowledgeable social, human rights, and environmental conscience that supports these rights and issues in any way they can. Those entities are welcome to become Sponsors.

Supporting the NFP will be something your co-workers, your family and friends and everyone beyond will talk about for a very long time!
