The Athletes Deserve Better - The Olympics weren’t created for me, you or anyone else, but for the Olympic Athlete - and that’s it. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies are for the athletes, the venues are for the athletes, the Torch and the Caldron are for the athletes - starting to get the idea here? The tracks, the hills, the ice, the snow, the rain, the win, the loss, the pain and sometimes the tragic ending of a life - belongs to the athletes.
When media morons around the world declare such ignorant claims as, "The worst Olympics ever!"* - be it the Vancouver, Bejing or Atlanta Olympics; they are not placing their displeasure on ordinary Canadians, instead it is landing on the shoulder of the many athletes who worked their asses off to get a shot at competing in the Greatest Sporting Event that’s held every four years.

Either we absolutely bake, cook or sizzle in unheard of heat waves, or we freeze our tootsies off in sub-zero temperatures under mountains of snow and skate down the street after an ice storm.
If you’re not on fire somewhere because of unusually dry weather fanned by the winds of the day, you’re up to your ears in water because of a simple but over-zealous rain storm, a hurricane, or a flash flood; and/or a nearby river has lost its mind and has flooded you out of house and home.

The AMA is hazardous to your health - As a Canadian; as with most Canadians, what we do understand about getting sick or being injured in the United States, is that when you go to the doctor or hospital, you’d better have Insurance, or bring the Mortgage to your house. That pretty much sums it up.
Sicko, despite whatever draw-backs we have been told, still holds water when it comes to portraying the healthcare systems in the U.S., the U.K., France, Cuba and Canada.
Although Moore’s films are usually lambasted by the critics as being ‘out of context’ and ‘missing information’, it gets the basic point across. American healthcare sucks.

It is inevitable that some countries in the world will never have Human Rights. And certainly not the kind of Human Rights that those in democratically run countries get to enjoy.
Even during those times that we, here in North America, ‘fight’ for human rights, worker rights, woman’s rights, lifestyle rights, etc., we take no real notice to those in other countries still ‘fighting’ for the littlest of basic human rights. The bare-bones stuff.
Tibet, Myanmar, China, North Korea to new a few; the people of those countries will quite likely never see real human rights that cover an assortment of levels, such as free press, free speech, free assembly, etc., let alone worker rights and women’s rights.

On behalf on the entire planet, including those who wouldn’t know what purity was if it ran them over at 200 kph on the Autobahn.
Thank you.
Thank you for showing this self-absorbed planet that beauty and grace can come from the most unlikely sources.
Thank you for reminding all of us that humans are real, no matter what their DNA says; and that looks will never be what matters most.
Thank you for putting those who think they are “something else” in their place.
Thank you for sharing your incredible voice with all of us, when in shameful reality most of us would not pay attention because you didn’t fit into the picture frame of what “society” dictates what a “beautiful” singer is.
We apologize.

“…the most powerful country in the universe…” (as quoted from the FOX show ‘Red Eye’ with Greg Gutfeld, see video below). And Gutfeld goes on further to say, “Why don’t we invade this ridiculous country [Canada]?” And Americans wonder why the rest of planet has a wee problem with their attitude.
Add in the comments from Thing One and Thing Two. Thing One (Bill Schulz), “We have cars and they have horses…” (our RCMP police). And from Thing Two (Monica Crowley), “The army needs time for manicures and pedicures.” Would that include the deceased soldiers, Monica?
